Seeking submissions for Legacy Theatre’s upcoming production of Dracula: a Comedy of Terrors by Gordon Greenberg and Steve Rosen.

For consideration, submit a video link for viewing (YouTube or Vimeo preferred) and an attached PDF of your headshot and resume to LegacyDraculaCasting@gmail.com with the subject line "Actor Full Name /Local or Non-Local/ Equity or Non Equity". Submissions deadline is March 29. Callbacks are TBD.

All submissions should prepare two contrasting monologues. General reels accepted. Note that the video should be listed as "Unlisted" rather than "Private" on YouTube, and as "Anyone" or "People with the private link" on Vimeo. Do not share via WeTransfer, Google Drive, Dropbox, iCloud or other file sharing platforms that require downloading to view.

In the treacherous mountains of Transylvania, a meek English real estate agent takes a harrowing journey to meet a new and mysterious client, who also just happens to be the most terrifying and ferocious monster the world has ever known: Count Dracula! As famed female vampire hunter Jean Van Helsing and company chase Drac from Transylvania to the British countryside to London and back, their antics are guaranteed to increase your pulse and cause bloodcurdling screams—of laughter. Filled with clever wordplay and anything-goes pop culture references, it’s a 90-minute, gender-bending, quick-changing, laugh-out-loud reimagining of the gothic classic, perfect for audiences of all blood types.

Below the bright lights of Broadway, in the depths of the historic Sovereign Theatre, an acting troupe of mice rehearse their new musical. When the theatre is threatened by demolition and their diva Adelaide disappears, it will take all paws on deck to fulfill the time-honored tradition: the show must go on! Filled with singing, dancing, and show biz lore, The Great American Mousical is a sharp and witty tribute to life in the theatre that celebrates the two most glorious words in the English language: musical comedy!

Adelaide - 40s-50s, a leading diva. Alto, with a few higher tricks up her sleeve.

Wendy/Ensemble - 20s, an ingénue. Soprano.

Rose/Ensemble - 30s-early 40s, a soubrette, tap dancing a plus. Belt with a good mix.

Toby/Rat 1/Ensemble - 20s-30s, a dry stage manager. Belter.

Pippin - late teens-early 20s, a wide-eyed, theatre-loving intern. Tenor/Alto.

Harold - 50s-60s, a salty, Shakespeare-quoting, spirit-nipping veteran of the stage. Baritone.

Curly/Ping - 20s, a song & dance star/doubles as student living in Chinatown. Tenor.

Hysterium/Rat 2/Ensemble - 20s-40s, a spirited, sardonic costumer/set Our May lineup: Richard Linklater, Ida Lupino, and a Mother’s Day bouquet designer. Tenor.

Henry/Father - 40s-50s, love interest to Adelaide, a gentle book-smart, honest mouse, lives a life outside the theatre. Bari-tenor.

Sky/Scud - 30s-40s, a handsome leading man/doubles as leader of a gang of Rats. Baritone.

Emile/Uncle Bernie/Fausto - 30s-40s, a dashing director of the Mousical Theatre Company/Doubles as Uncle Jerry, human brother of Father. Tenor or bari-tenor. Needs a B.

Ensemble - Female. Alto or soprano.

A world premiere musical, Love Affair is based on the 1939 film by Donald Ogden Stewart of the same title, which was later remade into “An Affair to Remember”. Joseph J. Simeone and Annaliese Jakimides tell the story of a beautiful, yet unassuming, woman who boards a transatlantic cruise bound for New York to marry a wealthy socialite, but when she meets a captivating playboy on the ship, she discovers something she never expected, true love in a — Love Affair.

TERRY McKAY: Female, 30-35 years. Initially a nightclub singer, now a high-society mistress. Terry transitions into a more subdued life as a music teacher by the story's end. She's a blend of resilience, grace, and a romantic soul, facing life's upheavals with poise and inner strength. The role requires a dynamic Soprano/Mezzo-Belter singing voice, capable of emotive depth, and robust acting skills to navigate Terry's complex emotional journey. Dance ability is a welcome addition. Any Ethnicity.

MICHEL MARNET: Male, 30-35 years. A charismatic French painter, Michel's allure lies in his passion, expressiveness, and a newfound depth of commitment upon meeting Terry. The role demands an excellent Bari-Tenor, able to convey a spectrum of emotions through song and dialogue. A genuine French accent enhances authenticity. Any Ethnicity.

MADELINE/MULTI-ROLE 1: Female, 55-60 years. Formerly a renowned chanteuse and courtesan in Paris. Michel's aunt embodies a vivacious and fiery spirit. She exudes confidence, charisma, and wit, having lived a life full of romance and adventure. She brings wisdom with a twist of playful sassiness to Michel's life. Requires a dynamic Mezzo-Belter voice, strong acting ability, and a flair for captivating storytelling. Must convey an air of worldly sophistication mixed with approachable warmth. Dance experience is a bonus. Plays other ensemble roles. Any Ethnicity.

PHYLLIS KNOEFLLER: Female, 35-40 years. Terry's best friend, a nightclub singer with a practical, down-to-earth attitude. Phyllis provides a grounding emotional support in the story. Requires solid vocal capabilities and a commanding stage presence. Alto-Belter. BIPOC cisgender female. A pronounced Bronx accent adds character depth.

MULTI-ROLE 2: Female, 20-30 years. For roles such as Art Model, Showgirl, Fortune Teller, Romantic Couple and other ensemble roles. Strong Soprano, capable of holding solo harmony. Proficiency in acting, singing, and theater dance: Lindy hop/swing skills a bonus. Any Ethnicity.

MULTI-ROLE 3:

Male, 20-30 years. For roles such as Steward, Emcee, Fishmonger, Romantic Couple and other ensemble roles. Strong Tenor, capable of holding solo harmony. Proficiency in acting, singing, and theater dance: Lindy hop/swing skills a bonus. Any Ethnicity.

MULTI-ROLE 4:

Male, 40-60 years. Plays supporting roles such as Mr. Bradley (a kind-hearted businessman), Courbet (Michel's art dealer), and many others. Must be adept at varied character portrayals. Strong Bass, capable of holding solo harmony. Any Ethnicity.

PIANIST/MUSIC DIRECTOR/MULTI-ROLE 5:

An excellent accompanist and concert-level pianist on a mobile rig, skilled at performing complex orchestral reductions, is needed. Responsibilities include musical direction, teaching singers, reharmonizing vocal lines if changes needed, record the score for the composer's archive and promotional materials, and accurately notating all score changes for the composer. This role demands both visual and musical dynamism, requiring exceptional skills, adaptability, and collaboration. Any vocal type.
