Legacy is now accepting submissions, as well as scheduling in-person auditions for the upcoming world premiere production of
‘Tis the Season, Starring The Sarafinas.

Show Description:
Step into the live holiday television special 'Tis the Season, Starring The Sarafinas, where a grandmother and granddaughter gather to decorate their holiday tree. As ornaments are hung and memories are shared, The Sarafinas whisk them—and the audience—through a magical celebration of music, nostalgia, and the true spirit of the season.
The Sarafinas are a premier New York City-based precision dance company founded by Purdie Baumann with creative direction by Leah Hofmann, both former Radio City Rockettes. Embodying the elegance and glamour of classic precision dance with a fresh, bold twist, The Sarafinas bring unmatched sophistication and energy to every performance.
Available Roles:
ELIZABETH: (50’s-60’s, female-presenting, any ethnicity, actor/singer/mover) grand-matriarch, leading the way through our holiday journey. Elizabeth has a warmth, wit and the desire to savor the nostalgic moments of the season. No spoken dialogue, but acting is through gestures, singing, movement and a joyful, elegant presence. Mezzo/Alto as a solo and duet singer, dance experience is a plus.
BIRDIE: (8-12 years old, female-presenting, any ethnicity, actor/singer/mover). Birdie is the “every child” who loves to sing, dance, drink hot chocolate, open presents, and decorate the tree! She represents the childlike wonder and charm of the season. No spoken dialogue, but acting is through gestures, singing, moving and a curious spirit. Mezzo/Alto as a solo and duet singer, dance experience is a plus.

Monday, October 12 and Tuesday, October 13, 2026: Initial Singing and Dance/Movement Auditions
Please Sign Up for a time slot:
1.) Monday, October 12th: 4pm-6pm
2.) Monday, October 12th: 6pm-8pm
3.) Tuesday, October 13: 4pm-5:30pm
During each time slot, auditionees will individually sing the music selection based on their desired role, followed by a group dance/movement session.
Tuesday, October 13, 2026: Callbacks: 5:30pm-8pm
Auditionees invited to callbacks will participate in another dance session, followed by individualized acting sessions, led by the director.

Video Submissions**:
To submit an online audition video, please send all materials to auditions@legacytheatrect.org.
Please keep videos submissions to approximately 3 minutes.

**Please only submit a video submission if you are unable to attend the in-person calls on October 12th & 13th. Video submission Callbacks will be held on Tuesday, 10/13.

Wednesday, December 2nd: First rehearsal (Mondays off)
Tuesday, December 9th: First Preview
Sunday, December 20th: Closing performance
Performance Schedule: 8 shows per week (Wednesday - Sunday)
