Legacy is now accepting online submissions for our upcoming production of The Odd Couple.

Please be sure to read all of the information below prior to submitting an audition.

The Show:

This classic Neil Simon comedy centers on two men: the slovenly Oscar Madison, and the neat freak Felix Unger, and how they adapt to living with one another after Felix’s wife throws him out.

Available Roles:

Oscar Madison 40’s-50’s A carefree, good-natured, divorced sportswriter who lives alone in a messy eight-room New York apartment.

Felix Unger 40’s-50’s A fussy man who knows that he is difficult to live with but cannot – or will not – make any concessions or compromises.

Gwendolyn Pigeon 30’s Oscar and Felix’s giggly upstairs neighbor, one of a pair of English sisters. She is a widow.

Cecily Pigeon 30’s Oscar and Felix’s giggly upstairs neighbor, one of a pair of English sisters. She is a divorcée

Speed 30’s-60’s One of Oscar and Felix’s poker buddies. Gruff and sarcastic, often picking on Vinnie and Murray.

Murray 30’s-60’s A NYPD policeman, one of Oscar and Felix’s poker buddies.

Roy 30’s-60’s One of Oscar and Felix’s poker buddies. Oscar’s accountant. Roy has a dry wit but is less acerbic than Speed.

Vinnie 30’s-60’s One of Oscar and Felix’s poker buddies. Vinnie is mild-mannered and hen-pecked, making him an easy target for Speed’s verbal barbs.

Production Timeline:

Monday, August 17th: First rehearsal

Thursday, September 10th: First Preview

Sunday, October 4th: Closing performance

Audition/Submission Requirements:

• Headshot

• Resume

• A short monologue in the style of the show.

• Optional: a special skill, or personality showcase

• Please keep videos submissions to approximately 3 minutes.

Additional Notes:

• Actors should be local or have local housing

• Equity and Non-Equity contracts are available
