Carole’s Kings

An iconic singer-songwriter gets a brand-new sound in Carole’s Kings, the world’s first all-male Carole King tribute. Dubbed as “striking, energetic, and romantic” by TotalTheatre.com, this unique show is filled with lush orchestrations, witty banter, and a cast of three incredibly talented New York stage veterans (one of whom plays live piano throughout the show). Come see what the Observer declared as the “best homage there is” and “bask in brilliance of our composer” (Talkin’ Broadway) as you are treated to chart-topping sensations such as “The Locomotion,” “I Feel the Earth Move,” “You’ve Got A Friend,” and many more. An expanded set also includes songs by King’s friends and collaborators Cynthia Weil, Barry Mann, James Taylor, and Joni Mitchell. Amazing vocals, personal stories, and fresh interpretations of an iconic song-book ranging from 1958 until now make Carole’s Kings a unique experience that’s fun for the whole family!

The Legacy Theatre’s concert of Carole’s Kings stars DJ Bucciarelli, Michael Linden, and Evan Jay Newman, whose Broadway and touring credits include Jersey Boys, Les Miserables, Beauty and the Beast, Jesus Christ Superstar, Hair and Saturday Night Fever. Having performed everywhere from Caesars Palace to small intimate cabaret spaces, they are beyond excited to be singing this nostalgic songbook for the Legacy Theatre’s audiences.

Film: Orson Rehearsed

A Prestidigitation
Music, Words, Film & Conception by Daron Hagen

Orson Rehearsed is a 60-minute multi-media Joycean stream of consciousness dreamscape film/opera/concert work/ web installation comprised of the Zuzu's petals-like memory shards of life streaming through the mind of American filmmaker, actor, activist, and visual artist Orson Welles during the last hour of his life. Welles is portrayed by three singers, accompanied by musicians and performed live to three synchronized 70-minute montages and an extensive electro-acoustic soundscape and visual images that correspond to musical and textual motives in the piece. The work, conceived, composed, and directed by Daron Hagen, debuted in its staged form at the Studebaker Theater in Chicago in September 2018, starring Robert Orth, Robert Frankenberry, and Omar Mulero of the New Mercury Collective, in association with Atlas Arts Media, and the Fifth House Ensemble.
