Stand Up, Speak Out
presented by Branford Arts & Cultural Alliance (BACA) at The Legacy Theatre
A transformative musical that takes a stand against bullying and uplifts with messages of empathy, kindness, and connection. Through a compelling blend of emotional ballads and uplifting anthems, this modern musical speaks directly to young people, especially middle schoolers, while resonating deeply with adults. Our performances are designed to move audiences and inspire them to take action in the real world.
To date, thousands of students, educators, and legislators from across Connecticut have attended grant-funded daytime performances. The show has drawn the attention of state leaders, including members of the Connecticut State Legislature and the State Department of Education. In a powerful show of support, U.S. Secretary of Education Dr. Miguel Cardona contributed a pre-recorded message to open the performance.
NOTE: This show explores difficult themes that may evoke strong emotions. Some content may be intense for younger audiences.
